Standardized Closeouts

The Growing Pig Benchmarking standardizes closeouts for both weights and prices so that they can be compared over a period of time even with changes in the markets and feed costs.  The index used to rank closeouts is based on the 4 components that the person in the barn has an impact on, death loss and DOAs, culls and lights, average daily gain per pig sold and adjusted feed conversion.  These reports show that on average producers are leaving over $10 per head on the table when comparing performance to the top 25% of closeouts.
